Barry Ritholtz makes the observation that the recession/depression is only “getting worse more slowly.” Makes perfect sense to me!
Paul Krugman agress “things are getting worse ” and that the recent upbeat data is not convincing. Krugman, like many others sees more “shoes yet to drop.” Worse, even when it is over, it won’t be over. So for all this talk about “green shoots” and glimmers of hope, Krugman offers this advice to policymakers “don’t count your recoveries before they are hatched.” Well said!
